A stronger community from the inside out
Pogue Construction, founded in 1979, has grown into a top-tier general contractor, grossing $300 million a year, mostly in public-sector projects such as schools. More than a construction company, Pogue is a builder of great communities in North Texas. In 2014, a challenge arose when a project received some negative media attention. Pogue addressed the issue head on, ensuring the community they were leading the way to a solution. This period became an opportunity for Pogue to strengthen the connection to their community through an updated brand that better reflected the value of Pogue.
Going through the branding process can help a company find its voice and better position it for the future. We worked with Pogue to clarify their vision, define their brand archetype, and crystallize their positioning. Once the strategy was set, we developed a creative platform that supported the new direction to employees and partners. Our main objective was to establish a recognition system that reinforces the values of Pogue as a “people-driven” organization.
We developed a brand narrative that captured their renewed values and it resonated throughout the organization. Concurrently we refreshed the visual identity, with the addition of a tagline and subtle logo modifications. We also designed, developed, wrote, and directed photography for the Pogue website, which served as the core brand piece for the company.
Pogue has reclaimed their position atop the premier construction companies in Texas. For the third year in a row, Pogue Construction makes the list of the 100 top workplaces and they’ve expanded their operation to Houston. As of 2019, Pogue Construction tops the list as the #1 Fastest Growing Middle Market Company in DFW as ranked by Dallas Business Journal.
